+3V supplied to pin 3 in the standard configuration (left)

In extended configuration (rigth). Push switch to A for stereo listening. Push switch to B for phone calls. Capacitor keeps +3V from damaging earpiece. Some users reports that this capacitor not needed (and should be removed for correct function)
