URGENT!!! Apple Geoport max current available???

Hi,

i am working on a custom project built upon a Apple Geoport connection and i need to be sure of how much current is available through 9th pin of the geoport.

Here in the archives

i can read that through GeoPort can be supplied a current for 5V at 350 mA but how can you be sure that 350mA is the max available current?
And/or where did you find exact info about that?

Note that other websites report a different value.
