It seems that IBM used the 35 pin molex for it's Cable Chaining technology (C2T) for IBM x330 series servers.

Hopefully I'll have the pinout for the breakout cable soon (Part #06P4792 or #00N6954).  The daisy chain cable looks like it's a pass through (Part #00N7003 or #00N6952).
