i ask some questions on the 3 protocols used one the obd - 2 standards. i was asking the forums if anyone might know one of the three protocols to help me better understand how it works. I program microprocessors and i thought it would be neat to program one of them to connect to my compuer, Not to mention, i program the software as well. I did say in the forums that i would share my findings of how i did it "if i did it". and from my best of guess it made some mod angry and he totaly removed my post, i spent some time on that post wordchecking it and rereading it to make sure it had few errors in the text, the next day i come back to check if i got a reply and it got deleted?  its no fun re-asking the ? im sure you undestand, i just wondered why it got deleted since there is a catagory SIGNAL in the forums "catagory". I am sorry that i was angry at the time i posted if it sounded a little harsh, but i just got off work and was somewhat ill to find my post gone.   Anyone that knows how to bit bang one of the 3 protocols could be some help to me. Thank you for taking the time to ask me what the problem was instead of bombarting me from the forums.  I think that show's some respect comming from you. Piece

ps, i already know how to communicate at half-duplex etc,,, i dont need any instructions on how any of it works. the information i am looking for is the cyclesperbit databaud flowcontrol,, you know, the how it works thing. i have programmed in this manner before but i am shy of how the protocol is used in these 3 protocols. Thanks...

Look into some of the OBD chips made by ELM.  They support all the protocols.  With their IC's you can issue modem style AT commands to the ECU and get responses, etc.  Let me know how you make out; this was a project that I haven't had the time to pursue.

Yes bro.. it's a bit weird because all members is expecting for some good replies and topics but people try to post topics not really relevant to the main topic of this forum.. It's quite normal but not good to see... I hope dennislv solved your problem :-)
