INCORRECTIt looks like Pin 2 ("PSW"), the Power Switch pin on the ADB connector, must also be used on the desktop Mac G3 (Apple P/N M6141LL), since there is a "soft" key on the Apple Extended Keyboard that is normally used to start the computer. This is a guess: that pressing that keyboard switch momentarily connects Pin 3, the +5V pin, to Pin 2. If true, this would make the statement "Pin 2 is used only in the Macintosh II family, Quadra 700 and 900, and PowerBook series. Unused on all other models." on your web page incorrect.NOT APPROVED
INCORRECTMy previous message to you assumed the Pin 2 would momentarily be connected to pin 3 to turn on the computer; that was wrong. Below is from Apple's article on the ADB protocol at this web address: http://developer.apple.com/legacy/mac/library/technotes/hw/hw_01.html "Soft Power On Macintoshes with software power control, the machine can be turned on by an ADB device. This is accomplished by momentarily connecting pin 2 on the ADB connector (reserved) to pin 4 (ground). Pin 2 should be kept grounded until pin 3 (+5 volts) comes up to power, letting you know that the machine has actually come on. Some Macintoshes do not have soft-power capabilities; on these machines, grounding pin 2 will have no effect."NOT APPROVED
