My stereo speakers have a spring-loaded connector and my output device is RCA. I'm familiar with the pinout of the RCA, but I am not sure which connector on the speaker is ground and which is signal. I would appreciate anyones expertise in enlightening me.

Try experimenting with the polarity. Just remember to keep the volume low so you don't fry anything.
