Title: Looking for some tutorials on Pinout diagrams
Post by: dwain on Dec 19, 2005, 15:00
Hi,

I am very unfamiliar with Cellular Pinout Diagrams - I would like to know more about the pins and their functions. Does anyone know of any good websites where I can get some informtion on this?

Cheers

I suppose you've tried this site at http://pinouts.ru/pin_CellularPhones.shtml right?

Normally, the phone either has a multi-connector like the Sony Ericsson series, which has audio in and out, and it allows the phone to detect whether a headset is attached. Nokias have a barrel-type plug for charging and a seperate connector for a headset. The newer ones vary though.

munkeyman,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm particulary interested in the LG 24-pin connector for a C1100 phone. I've already looked at the above URL for the pinout but I don't understand the function for each pin - the descriptions are lacking and are too vague.

I need to know which pins are for the power input because I would like to attach a 9v battery to my cable for flashing purposes (see below). I'm not 100% sure but I think that the 'USB Vcc' pin is for the + and the 'GND' pin is for the - terminal of the battery.

I do not want to take a chance in connecting the battery as I don't want to damage the circuits in the phone. So If you can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
