Title: NokiaE71, iphone & PC with Bang & Olufsen Headsets
Post by: sadstory on Dec 18, 2008, 18:37
I recently purchased two headsets from Bang & Olufsen

Earset 3 (3.5mm 4-pin Stereo/Mic/Switch) designed for the iphone (see: http://pinouts.ru/PortableDevices/iphone_headphone_pinout.shtml)

and the;

Earset 1 Mobile (2.5mm 3pin (mono/mic/switch) for mobile phones

I would like create various adaptors for these headsets to plug into both a standard PC (3.5mm stereo, and 3.5mm mic) to use for VOIP/Skype and also for my Nokia E71 (2.5mm Stereo 4-pin)

Question 1: Which is the correct pinout for the Nokia E71 2.5mm?

or

Question 2:
Is it possible to make the "answer/hangup" switch on both earsets work on the Nokia?
If so, how?

Good morning.  I saw your post and wanted to inquire about it.  I have a Bang & Olufsen Earset 1 and I absolutely love it but cell phones that are coming out are mostly using a 3.5mm jack.  Were you able to create an adapter for it?
