Some Apple Mac Pros use a single 8 pin connector for two fans. Apple uses various color schemes for wires. This dual fan connector usually has all black wires.

Name		 Description
1      No connect
2   Fan Speed Control 

  Two wires connect to this pin, one for each fan.

  0-5 volts analog fan speed control.

  0 volts=off, 5 volts = 100%, 2.5 volts = 50%, ...

  Can also be controlled using a 5 volt PWM signal.
3      No connect
4   GND   Shared ground.  Two wires connect to this pin, one for each fan. 
5   SIGNAL1   Fan 1 RPM signal
6   SIGNAL2   Fan 2 RPM signal
7   +12v (1)   Fan 1 +12 volts
8   +12v (2)   Fan 2 +12 volts
