2010-02-19 17:16:02 | rev. 5 | CORRECT | works fine with APC CS 500, on Mac OS X (apcupsd) | APPROVED |
2010-03-20 07:12:21 | rev. 5 | CORRECT | While I am sure this will work if you have an RJ50 10 pin connector it doesn't work with an RJ45 8 pin connector. If your UPS has a 10 pin port an 8 pin connector won't work because pins 1 and 10 are not contacted with an RJ45. | APPROVED |
2010-03-28 13:00:48 | rev. 5 | ERROR FIXED | This works wonderfully with RJ50 connector. RJ45 does not have additional pins on each side so would not work. Alternative is to rip out the proprietary RJ50 connector and add a regular USB port. | APPROVED |
2010-04-08 03:47:22 | rev. 5 | ERROR FIXED | This method may or may not be correct. I have yet to verify. However note at least on the XS 1000 the standard 10P10C connector (at least the one I got) dont fit. Inside the UPS there are 10 pins so it is not a 8P8C connector. However 10P10C connector seems to be too fat. Perhaps there are specific brands/models that do work? I am going to sand the sucker down if possible. | APPROVED |
2010-04-08 08:07:21 | rev. 5 | CORRECT | I submitted a thing about plug size. Please disregard. My terminator was broken and I did not notice. One of the pins was not pushed in. Sorry | APPROVED |
2010-05-09 14:39:38 | rev. 7 | CORRECT | Work perfect with APC 2005 500VA (300W) all ok | APPROVED |
2010-07-03 18:32:33 | rev. 7 | CORRECT | Certainly is correct, I don't have access to 10-Pin RJ50 plugs so cut a USB lead and soldered direct to the PCB solder pads. APC Back_UPS ES700 (UK version). Worked immediately and perfectly. | APPROVED |
2010-08-23 01:06:49 | rev. 7 | ERROR FIXED | I have a APC 500 and it is perfect !!! I have direct plug an wire usb on here mother board ^^ and plug in my computer ( linux ( ubuntu ^)) and its work !!! thanks !!! | APPROVED |

2010-08-28 02:42:44 | rev. 7 | CORRECT | working with APC BACK-UPS CS 500VA 230V USB/SERIAL | APPROVED |
2010-10-01 16:28:29 | rev. 7 | CORRECT | This is great! Bought the UPS used for $10, put a new battery in it for $20, and didn't want to spend another $30 for APC's special wire. Got the RJ45 10P10C connector from infinite cables in Canada for a buck, cut an old USB 1.1 cable I had, and managed to install it without a crimp tool. Tip: Strip a little extra from your USB cable, and use a lenght of one of the coloured USB cables soldered to the shield, then all of the pins will seat at the same depth in the new connector. It is fidgety work, and an RJ45 8P8C crimp tool will not work. | APPROVED |
2010-11-10 11:35:00 | rev. 7 | CORRECT | Works preety good with APC Back-UPS RS 500 (BR500I) | APPROVED |

2012-03-02 04:27:25 | rev. 10 | CORRECT | Pin 4 (Chassis Ground) is not needed and hard to get from the typical braided wires in a USB cable. If not connected, unit still runs fine! | APPROVED |

2017-10-10 21:40:13 | rev. 15 | CORRECT | Worked for a BX1500G (SX1500). However, the RJ50 connector is a little sloppy and was prone to disconnect if the cable was jostled. A week after making a cable, I found the original in a junk drawer. The original connector has little "side rails" on it, making it a little wider for a more secure fit. | APPROVED |

2018-07-15 00:30:02 | rev. 15 | CORRECT | Worked the first time. I couldn't get the shield wire (very tiny & stranded) into pin 4 of the RJ50 so I left it out. Had a 6/8 pin crimper but not a 10-pin version so I used needle-nosed pliers. Worked great! | APPROVED |

2022-11-07 06:59:48 | rev. 15 | CORRECT | Worked with a Back-UPS ES 650 (DL650T). Had to remove panel from UPS first. | APPROVED |
2023-04-29 19:07:15 | rev. 15 | CORRECT | If you have an 8P8C (RJ45) plug, solder two jumper wires on the UPS side: 1) Pin 1 to Pin 5 2) Pin 10 to Pin 6. You can then create a cable by replacing the end of an old USB cable with the correctly crimped RJ45 connector. No extra parts needed. | APPROVED |
