The VX-6R/E, VX-7R/E,VX-8R/E, VX-120, VX-127, VX-170, VX-177 and all models that include the CT-91 adapter in their accessory list use a threaded, waterproof version of the same 3.5mm plug. This pinout is not for the VX-8DR.

Pin 2 is the clone RX/TX pin. Not used except in programming the Radio.

You should check that the connections match your particular radio. Connections used only for cloning or programming are usually NOT present in these cables.
